Local Spotlight with Masaya & Yui: Greg’s U-Pick Farm
Blueberry picking at Greg’s U-Pick Farm |
One of the many things that I love about my kids, is that they’re always up for an adventure. We try to keep ourselves busy, especially with everything going on. And in doing so, we make sure to support local businesses all over Western New York. I’m a firm believer that your home is wherever you are. And one thing we can always do is take pride in our neighborhoods and Communities. So when I asked Masaya and Yui If they were up for blueberry picking, they were all too ready.
A quick 30 minute drive led us to Greg’s U pick Farm, just outside of Clarence New York. The colorful sign welcomed us as we drove up the gravel road into the farm area. We were surrounded by beautiful open fields, animals, and produce. Not only are you able to pick your own fresh blueberries and other seasonal fruits. But the farm also hosts a produce market, an ice cream shop, and general market with fresh jams, juices, flavored milk and other fresh products. You’re more than welcome to bring your own buckets or baskets for berry picking, however if you do forget them, the farm is more than happy to supply baskets for two dollars each. And Once you’re done picking, make sure to say hello to those animal friends. The farm boasts a large number of animals including pigs, chickens, roosters, kittens, bunnies, goats, donkeys, ponies, and turkeys. Both Masaya and Yui were ready to take a new friend home by the end of our visit.
So in closing, if you’re looking for a fun activity that not only supports a local business, but it’s something interesting and outdoorsy that anyone can do, I highly recommend Greg’s U pick Farm.
