I found my heart in Tokyo, Japan….

Hello friends!!!! Happy November. Can you all believe that this year is almost to and end and a new one is just around the corner? Time waits for no one, let me tell you. So start off this new month right. Make it new. Whatever was holding you back last month, let it go! Try something new, start a dream, make a new goal and leave the past where is belongs…in the past.

I am celebrating my 6th wedding anniversary today. Traditionally, the 6th year calls for iron and the flowers associated with the year are calla lilies. I do need new pots and I love those flowers (though I don't think they are in season anymore). But, I can look back at all the ups and downs I've had with my husband and know that I love him and he loves me. We are a family, with our son Masaya and new addition of little puppy Dexter. We are a unit and every day, week, month and year, I remind myself that if we want to win as a team, we have to work together as a team. Being committed to someone is no walk in the park and marriage is not for everyone. It is hard giving, compromising and effectively communicating every single day. But hey, that is what success calls for…putting in the work. My marriage isn't perfect, but perfection is not what I'm looking for. There are days when he drives me crazy and other days when I literally just want to walk away and be done with it. I know he feels the same. But we stick with it because the good days out weigh the bad ones, the happiness is greater then the sadness or disappointments and there is just too much love that surrounds us. So to my dear husband Kenji, here's to many more years of love, happiness, arguments, dirty looks, sweet kisses, warm embraces and a united team.

Here's a look back at all our celebrations. And yes, we had 3 weddings. Well…technically, we had 3 receptions and two weddings, but whose counting!!!!
