July 4th 2013

I'm back ladies and gentlemen. Was on a little vacation with the family, traveling to points here and there, but I have returned and I am so happy to be back. This one is gonna be short and to the point so here we go!

Today is July 4th, it is America's Independence Day. Now that in itself is cause for celebration and remembrance. Now I understand that my country is not in the best of shape. I see division everyday in classes, races, economic status. I am not blind to our lack of judgment in our policies, judicial and education systems. I see the daily injustices and my heart breaks, truly it does. But unlike many Americas, I have lived ad worked ad made a life in another country. I have traveled the world and know that it is up to ALL OF US to make our home a better place. Not by pointing fingers, but putting action to our words. That is what our founding fathers did and that is what we as American truly lack. We are so focused on the "ME" and not the "WE". change can only happen is we all work together on the same page, no personal agenda and get shit done. I know it sounds like a pipe dream, but I have hope, I have faith in us. I would not have moved all the way from Japan, 7 months pregnant, with no money and my husband as well, giving up his career, family, friends and country, if living here in America was not the right thing to do for our family. And you know what, it was the best for us and our son Masaya. It was not and easy ride and we have had more then our fair share of challenges, but the life we have here does not compare. The life we have made for our son is nothing more then grace and a true blessing.

Today is not about what America lacks, but what America is and can be. What we as Americans have done and what we can do and what we should be doing. Happy 4th of July my fellow American...I love you dearly.
